Beyond LEED: Wellness and the Urban Office
January 15, 2018
With the average employee spending 90% of their time inside, the built environment has now become our natural environment. On January 15th Stamford 2030 joined AIA Connecticut and CTGBC to explore the pillars of a healthy work environment through the WELL Building Standard. The COOKFOX Office was the first LEED Platinum office facility in New York City. But Platinum designation was just a starting point: the design also met the emerging WELL Building Standard and was awarded WELL Gold level certification in April 2018. This moderated presentation and discussion explained the science of biophilia and introduced key concepts of human health and wellness that link advanced design with environmental sustainability.
