Pay for Performance Program:
If you are a property owner or operator of a commercial building, you may be eligible to receive incentive payments over time for verified energy savings. Pay for performance, or P4P, pays a set incentive amount for total energy saved, rather than separate incentives for individual measures. This allows for more flexible and creative projects, helping you to find even more ways to save.
Energy Efficiency as a Service (EEaS) Pilot:
Seattle City Light is planning to launch a new Energy Efficiency as a Service pilot, and wants to hear from interested building owners and contractors who work within their service territory.
- Building owner invests in whole building energy efficiency measures
- City Light bills the customer for actual energy delivered + energy savings (or what the building would have used had no improvement occurred). The energy savings are billed via a service fee, based on electricity rates at the time of billing.
- Owner passes on service fee to tenants in a lease provision, as part of the Common Area Management charges. Tenants pay for actual delivered electricity + energy savings, essentially paying for energy costs as if no improvement had occurred, and remain bill-neutral.
- The financial benefit of electricity savings collected by City Light is paid back to the building owner through a Power Purchase Agreement
