On October 4, 2018, Seattle 2030 District will present its annual Vision Awards recognizing outstanding member projects that achieve the 2030 Challenge for Planning goals and serve as a model for others. The gala fundraiser event will take place at the Bell Harbor Conference Center.

We have two great speakers:

Brenna Davis, VP of Social & Environmental Responsibility at PCC Community Markets, is an environmental scientist, sustainability expert and has over two decades of experience working with businesses to reduce their environmental impact while growing their bottom line. She has spoken on issues related to sustainability in many forums – including at Expo West, the Obama White House, internationally at COP21, and on a panel facilitated by Vice President Al Gore. Brenna is engaged in the community on advisory boards of Huxley College of the Environment, Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition, and UW Foster School of Business Net Impact. She is the past chair and co-founder of Washington Business for Climate Action.

Seattle Mayor Jenny A. Durkan will share inspiring examples of how the City is demonstrating leadership in high performance buildings for the region and the nation. That leadership contributed to Seattle's selection as an initial winner of Bloomberg’s American Cities Climate Challenge. As part of the award, Seattle will receive robust technical assistance and a support package valued at more than $2.5 million to help improve the energy efficiency of citywide buildings and reduce emissions from the transit sector. Bloomberg Philanthropies will work with Seattle to achieve a number of key actions by 2020, one of which is expanding financing and incentives for building efficiency including the 2030 building pilot that will create the City’s most sustainable buildings.

Event Details

The Vision Awards celebrates the outstanding projects that Seattle 2030 District members have implemented to green the built environment. We’ll recognize their accomplishments in the areas of energy, water, transportation and overall leadership as we raise funds to support our important mission.
