Join Green Building Alliance and McKnight Realty Partners for a construction update and tour of the Highline!
Formerly known as The Terminal Building and then the River Walk Corporate Centre (and long-time home to Green Building Alliance!), McKnight Realty Partners purchased this 868,000 square foot 6-story brick property in 2016 and is in the midst of converting the historic terminal into a creative and chic mixed use complex. The project is pursuing LEED v4 BD+C (Core & Shell) Silver certification and will work to re-connect tenants to the trails and riverfront adjacent to the building. Named for the High Line in New York City, Pittsburgh’s new Highline will feature a 500-foot long elevated park-like space (converting a current parking area into green space) that will extend to an overhang with views of the Monongahela River and Pittsburgh’s skyline. The complex will now feature underground parking, bike storage, a public fitness center, and over an acre of green public space along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail to be used for events such as concerts and farmer’s markets.
At this construction update, McKnight Realty’s Izzy Rudolph will take us on a journey through the history of the Terminal Building, from its construction in 1906 all the way up to its new life today. Izzy will provide details about the plan and vision for the Highline, including its current progress and future phases. We’ll gain insight into the tenant spaces, the public spaces, adaptive reuse, historic preservation, and green features including a rooftop solar array. We’ll gain insights from Izzy and his construction team, explore the property and check out some of the tenant spaces and construction highlights. Refreshments are included.
