The New York City 2030 District encompasses areas of Downtown Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan, with our target area of Community District 2 in Brooklyn and CDs 1, 2 and 3 in Manhattan. NYC 2030 District has 21 Million square feet of properties pledged to the partnership including the Brooklyn Navy Yard, The New School, Time Equities, Pratt Institute and Clinton Hill Coops. Brooklyn CD 2 includes the Brooklyn Tech Triangle of Downtown Brooklyn, DUMBO and the Navy Yard. Manhattan CDs 1, 2 and 3 encompasses the financial and civic centers. The District will contain two Central Business Districts, University Campuses, and a variety of residential, commercial and industrial zones. NYC 2030 District will contain the neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO and the BAM Cultural District in Brooklyn; the West & East Villages, Chinatown, Tribeca, South Street Seaport, Battery Park City, Soho and Noho in Manhattan. Downtown Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan each contain a commercial core, the prime feature of existing 2030 Districts, as well as a civic center. But the unique aspect of the proposed district is its diversity, a characteristic which facilitates the modeling of sustainability and resilience planning for the entire city in this compact area.
