Cornell Atkinson Center Joins 2030 District as Community Stakeholder

The Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability has become the newest Community Member of the Ithaca 2030 District. Its sustainability mission makes it an exciting addition to the District’s membership.

Cornell Atkinson Center is the hub of collaborative sustainability research at Cornell University, bringing together researchers, students, staff, and external partners. Primary research areas include climate, energy, food, and health. Spanning the environmental, agricultural, economic, and social sciences, the Atkinson Center is addressing the most challenging problems we face as a planet.

“We are thrilled to be part of this great effort and look forward to exploring ways the Atkinson Center can collaborate with the Ithaca 2030 District,” said Patrick Beary, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships.

Cornell Atkinson joins the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, Ithaca Downtown Alliance, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, HeatSmart Tompkins, Tompkins Area Development, Park Foundation, and Local First Ithaca, among others, as the eleventh community stakeholder in the Ithaca 2030 District.
