In October 2021, Blandford Nature Center announced their pursuit of the International Living Future Institute’s Living Building Challenge for a new facility at the Highlands. In this webinar we will be going over the Living Building Challenge requirements and taking a look at an ongoing local project pursuing the label.
ILFI introduced the Living Building Challenge in 2006 and asks the question “what does good look like”? This regenerative design strategy focuses on 7 petals; place, water, energy, health & happiness, materials, equity, and beauty. “Living Buildings are regenerative buildings that connect occupants to light, air, food, nature, and community.”
In this session, Matthew VanSweden, LFA, WELL AP, LEED AP BD+C from Foresight Management will walk us through the LBC process and bring in local perspectives involved in the Highlands project along with Jack Woller, CEO of Blandford Nature Center.
