Green Building Alliance and our friends are delighted to invite you to our inaugural Women in Green breakfast. We will celebrate achievements of our sisters in sustainability, focusing on what women in our region are doing now to combat climate change and create sustainable communities in their lives and work.
This energizing morning will combine inspiring stories with candid panel discussions and facilitated table conversations while we enjoy breakfast together in the National Aviary’s Rose Garden. People of all backgrounds, genders, and professional disciplines are invited to join us.
Inspired by the many celebrations of women throughout the U.S. Green Building Council network, we hope to support the contributions that women and non-binary individuals are making toward a regenerative future.

About our Keynote Speaker
Christy Uffelman has facilitated peer learning and coached leaders for nearly 15 years, helping them align talent strategy with business strategy. Ms. Uffelman launched the east coast office of Align Leadership in 2013 and current serves as President. Her work is focused on women’s leadership development and Millennial initiatives. These efforts assist organizations like FedEx Ground and PNC, who are engaged in retaining and developing their emerging talent pipeline. Additionally, she facilitates all-male cohorts with the purpose of developing more inclusive leaders at work and at home.
A sought after national speaker in the field of Millennial development and Women’s Leadership, Ms. Uffelman was quoted in the scholarly book When Millennials Rule: The Reshaping of America. Her passion for Millennial development and her work to ignite and motivate women in male-dominated industries, has inspired several research projects including the 2015 white paper, Women Leaders across Generations.
Ms. Uffelman was awarded the ATHENA Young Professional Recipient and the YWCA Young Leader of the Year in 2012 and a Woman of Distinction in 2014. In 2016, Ms. Uffelman was recognized by Smart Business Magazine as one of Pittsburgh’s “50 Smartest Executives”, received the inaugural Spirit of Enterprise Young Professional of the Year award from Junior Achievement and was identified by Pittsburgh Magazine as a 40 Under 40 Honoree. Ms. Uffelman gives back to her community by serving as the Chair of 2020 Women on Boards, a national nonprofit committed to increasing the percentage of female talent on Fortune 1000 boards of directors. Through 2020 WOB, helps to build the skills of C-Suite women in preparation of for-profit board service.
