Cleveland 2030 District Joins 1% for the Planet

1% for the Planet is a global network of businesses, nonprofits and individuals working together for a healthy planet.  Member businesses in the network commit to donating 1% of sales each year to approved nonprofit partners.  Cleveland 2030 District is proud to announce we are one of their newest partners.

1% for the Planet connects dollars and doers to address the most pressing issues facing our planet. Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, members have given more than $150 million to environmental nonprofits to date. Their founders - successful entrepreneurs who grew thriving businesses - understood that they were not alone in being committed to protecting the environment and giving back to our global community.

Today, 1% for the Planet is a network of more than 1,200 member businesses, numerous individuals, and thousands of nonprofit partners in more than 40 countries.

1% for the Planet believes that forging connections between businesses and nonprofits is a critical aspect of solving the global environmental challenges we face. The nonprofit sector fills a unique and critical role, and the 1% for the Planet model and mission are focused on unleashing the incredible power that is possible when businesses support and engage with impactful nonprofits.
