Cleveland 2030 District is running another Green Building Challenge this year in partnership with USGBC Ohio Northeast Region. The Challenge has four categories:
- Most improved EUI (energy use intensity) from baseline through 2017
- Most improved EUI from 2016 to 2017
- Most improved WUI (water use intensity) from baseline through 2017
- Most improved WUI from 2016 to 2017
EUI (kBtu/square foot/year) is the energy use intensity score prescribed by Portfolio Manager using the 2003 Commercial Building Energy Consumption Survey. The water use intensity score baseline is set by the Cleveland 2030 District using 2010 data collected from commercial property participating in the Cleveland District.
Most of the 2030 properties are already using Portfolio Manager and if you're not, we'll set you up. We do all the calculations, you just need to keep implementing behavioral changes and projects to reduce energy and water consumption. You can see an article in our March 2017 newsletter about the 2016 Challenge and our winners. There was also an article published in Properties Magazine.
Winners will be announced and presented with certificates in early 2018.
